Last December, we decided to build an addition to our home so my husband’s mother could move in with us. We met with a few contractors, but it was an easy decision to choose Bill Robinson to do the job. Bill came highly recommended from an acquaintance, but meeting him really sealed the deal. He listened to our ideas and concerns, and shared his thoughts on what might work, drawing up ideas and tweaking them to fit our needs. Throughout the process, Bill’s experience showed in the seamless manner in which work progressed; from the first plans, through permitting, and in scheduling all his subcontractors. He was at the site daily, making sure things progressed as planned, and always kept us informed on what work was scheduled for the week. His attention to detail is a huge bonus, and he even helped us out with creative advice on projects of our own that were unrelated to the addition.

What surprised me most was how easy the process was for me, and how little I noticed of the work in progress. Bill held off on cutting through the kitchen wall as long as possible, and when he did cut through, he did it with very little noise or dust---another testament to his years of experience. My husband was impressed that just as he would think of something he wanted to bring up, Bill would have already thought of and planned for it.

We are thrilled with the addition to our home. It is comfortable and welcoming for my husband’s mother, it is energy-efficient, and it was built in such a way that it looks like it has always been a part of the house. We would definitely hire Bill for any future projects and would recommend him without reservation to friends and family.

As soon as I met Bill Robinson to discuss our home remodeling project, I knew it would be a successful and enjoyable process. Bill and his team of highly skilled, reliable and courteous craftsmen have transformed a long- time dream in to a reality.

Our project involved turning three separate rooms (kitchen, family and living rooms) in to one large open area. I knew what I wanted, Bill knew how to make it happen; working with the current building codes and available resources which helps make a project look good, be current and safe. Bill always communicated ideas and project plans; he kept us abreast of timelines and upcoming events.

After reviewing our neighbors play room addition and hearing the pleasurable experience they had using Robinson Contracting, Inc, we contacted Bill to construct a bonus room on our house. From the initial consultation to the completion of the project we were extremely impressed with the ability of Robinson Contracting to not only meet but to exceed each date on the project schedule. The drafting of the construction drawings, the approval of the permit and breaking ground happened very quickly. We were most impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of each of the subs performing the work including the mason, carpenter, roofer, drywall hangers and drywall finishers. Bill has himself a top-notch team but still takes the time to go over every detail to ensure the highest of quality. The folks were very courteous to our family and took extreme measures to keep our property and interior of the house clean from dust and construction debris. The project finished several weeks ahead of schedule and looks better than we could have imagined. Since completing our project Bill has performed similar projects for several of our family members. We would highly recommend Robinson Contracting and personally use them again in the future.

I am so excited to see the completion of our 20 x 20 playroom addition! I was very impressed with how little time it took (done in just over 2 months) as well as the quality of work inside and out. It was so nice to know that when someone was supposed to be here doing work at a certain time or day, 99% of time it was right on track (except due to a few weather delays). Each sub took pride in their work as well as had such great things to say about the contractor, Bill Robinson. Honest, reliable, hard working and just an all out nice guy :) Even some of my family members who came by to see the addition had asked for the numbers to their subs to use them for their own homes! I also had a neighbor that was very impressed, she wanted to get an addition as well with Bill. Leigh and I want to express to you our heartfelt gratitude for all that you have done to evolve our house into a home that features so much more than the affordable cost of renovation would ever suggest. For example, when I mentioned to you that I wished my garage was larger, I never dreamed it was possible because of easement restrictions. You suggested adding an oversized garage on the opposite elevation of our home (where easement allowed) and renovating the old garage into the large guest bedroom that we needed plus a large air-conditioned laundry-room for Leigh. We love this arrangement! Also, suggesting using attic trusses in the new garage was brilliant as was installing a second overhead-door in the rear wall that allows me to park my boat behind the garage.

Besides your many structural and design innovations (too numerous to list) we appreciated your individual attention to important details such as speaker, cable, and electrical switch placement. From slab to roof, your sub-contractors were reliable, quick, and trustworthy. We were both impressed by the construction schedule that you managed to keep.

These are the reasons we automatically called you back for the second addition consisting of two more rooms and a porch with paved floor. The Florida-room, with its ¾” wood floor, wide casings, and high coffered ceiling updates our home tremendously. More than that, it is the most comfortable room in the house and we spend a great deal of time there. Thanks for suggesting track lighting, window heights that don’t interfere with sofas and chairs, and all the rest.

Finally, I thank you for my spacious custom den/office where I often find solace after a difficult day. The room is wired for everything, including a high-mounted television over the double doors leading to the master suite. It is prestigious with its chair-rail moldings, wide lacquered crown moldings, and high ceiling. Installing that extra window was a great suggestion, and we really appreciate you doing the energy calculations to our determine A/C needs and requirements.

I consider myself very lucky to have been referred to Robinson Contracting. Having heard the horror stories from friends and family about their experiences with bad contractors I was very skeptical about even having the work done.
